House Rilyntlar was the lead noble house of the northern drow for as long as any can remember, until losing favour during the [[campaigns:past:spider_queen|resurgence of the spider queen]], where their practises of open trade with surface worlders and the despicable surface elves led to their downfall to [[paragons:fey_court:lolth|Lolth]] loyalists. Those that managed to survive the inquisitions quickly learned their place at the bottom of the new hierarchy. Despite this, the northern drow do still hold tentative trade with a select few surface worlders, using their control over rare goods from the underdark as a means to manipulate and influence powerful individuals of surface world states.
