Fortunately she was spared at the expense of her parents. Living a life of denial about them 'being taken away' instead of dying to protect her. She was found by a man named Treskin who raised her as a daughter and looked after her when she didn't want to spend time at the orphanage. Treskin spent his time teaching and training Jamie the ways of the Theif so she could live her own life. Adopting Samael early as a patron she pays homage to him in the form of organising pranks with her friends and striving to be very physically skillful, this came at a cost of some basic learning like reading and writing as she would rather spend time learning more street smarts than smarts.
