Kaila Flamespinner

Kaila is a lithe looking half elf woman and is around 24 years old, standing at a height of 5 feet 7 inches and weighing 126 pounds. She has lightly tanned skin, dark brown eyes, and wears her long black hair in straight braids.
She likes to keep her background a mystery, but may possibly reveal it to a companion who she grows particularly close to. Kaila was raised in a small settlement with a large half elf population, possibly due to a merging of elf and human settlements as a result of trying to be strong in the dark ages. She was the only sorcerer in the area, which made the people suspicious of her. One day, a magic based accident occurred, and the folk blamed Kaila and her fledgling powers. Kaila suspects that the settlement's small group of wizards were responsible and blamed the accident on her, but even with a few fragments of evidence, trying to prove they were involved only made the people more eager to throw her out.
Sick and tired of everyone giving her bad looks, Kaila left her place of birth and became a traveller. Kaila grew up with people spreading misinformation about her origins and extent of her powers, but on her travels she came to like the strange rumours surrounding her.
Kaila moves from town to town, taking odd jobs or performing for money. Life was not much different in her old home, running errands for her elders. In most of the backwater villages she has passed through, the people tend to see no difference between low level sorcery and simple sleight-of-hand magicians tricks.
Kaila enjoys adventuring, sometimes just to see interesting new sights. She is particularly excited to expand her magic in more visually spectacular ways, mostly for her own amusement, although this is partially what got her people to mistrust her in the first place. When it comes to tactics, she mostly prefers to blast things in some way.

The events of this section occured the evening after Kaila dedicated herself, mind body and soul, to Ignitus, a powerful efreeti high up the beaurocratic heirarchy in Conflux, to help cure a malady of the mind placed upon her companion at the time, Kaladrin.

As Kaila lay down to sleep that evening, she found herself uncomfortably hot in her bed. Despite it being early spring, the room felt like it was summer, and she found herself needing to throw off her nightgown, sleeping in nothing but her undergarments, above the cover with the window open just to be cool enough to relax and fall asleep. As the day had passed, the feeling, almost like a fever, had built within her until she finally managed to close her eyes and drift to sleep.

She awakened, finding herself lying down on sand. Getting up, she brushed herself off as she noticed herself wearing an elegant, though also to her worry and dismay, revealing Rai style outfit. Wondering where she was and how she came to be wearing these clothes she noted that, despite their apparent lack of cover they seemed to, at the very least, ward off the harsh sun, leaving her feeling nothing but the warm desert breeze flowing around her body. Inspecting her surroundings she saw nothing but sand dunes as far as her eyes could see, a feeling of worry rising within her at the prospect of being stranded in the desert, she found her heart beginning to thump in panic. Suddenly she heard a voice from behind her, saying “Don't be alarmed, the world here cannot hurt you.”
Looking around, she saw Ignitus, in his fiery, red-skinned form, yet he bore a classy smile, and offered out an open hand for her to take. Looking at him now, without her mind being clouded in fear or worry, she found herself blushing, her heart thumping for an altogether different reason as she hesitated, before slowly reaching out and taking his hand.
Expecting his hand to radiate heat, she was surprised to find it a seemingly normal temperature, despite the flames that engulfed him. Noticing her surprise, Ignitus' smile would widen.
“You need not be afraid of fire ever again. I have imbued with with elemental fire itself, no normal fire, and only the most magically imbued of flames can harm you. I cannot have a subject who is unable to bear even my touch after all.” he'd say as he slowly pulled her closer, brushing a strand of hair out of her stunned face with a warm smile that kept her heart racing.
As he held Kaila's body against his, the flames around his body began to engulf the two of them, leaving Kaila completely unharmed as the world around her became an unimaginable inferno, though her eyes only saw him.

Kaila startled awake, sitting up, only to find herself lying in her bed. Hearing a crackling sound behind her she turned around, quickly noticing her pillow on alight with fire! In her panic, she tried to put the fire out with her hands, hoping to avoid being burned as much as she could. It wasn't long before she noticed her hands didn't feel the sting of the fire's heat as she finished putting it out. Perhaps that dream had been more real than it let on? Remembering back to it, she found herself thinking of Ignitus, and, just like in the dream, found her heart thumping at the thought of him… Maybe this wasn't such a bad deal after all?

During her short career as an adventurer, Kaila dedicated her soul to Ignitus, a powerful efreeti living in Conflux, in exchange for him to cure one of her fellow adventurers, Kaladrin, from a terrifying blight of the mind, inflicted by Marybelle after he threatened the life of one of her familiars.

Ignitus didn't seek Kaila exclusively for her attractive form however; he sensed her potential as a sorceress, and knew that she would make a fine addition to his harem, as both a wife, but also as a powerful ally. Before she had died, Ignitus had imbued Kaila's soul with elemental fire, making her transition to the elemental planes in death a certainty. On the unfortunate day of her death within the next few months, her soul had arrived at Ignitus' estate in Conflux, a little dismayed at her much sooner than anticipated demise, but those thoughts melted away quickly as she was taken in and tended to by Ignitus' servants, being treated like a princess, something she had never experienced in life. Ignitus took her under his wing, training her in the ways of potent fire magics, and slowly transforming her soul into a creature of fire, an efreeti like himself.

Kaila now serves Ignitus loyally, ready to lay down her new life for her master, never forgetting the kind hand he had offered her when she had given everything she had to him.
