Story:

Yik-Jot, who's name was passed down in his tribe from legends of the great Yik-Jot, Servitor of Leucetius, lived in a happy little den, tending to the care of a great blue dragon. He was very loyal to said blue dragon, and the dragon treated him like no other kobold, sensing his innate draconic nature, almost becoming friends, although, as always with dragons, she maintained the superior position, reminding him of his place when he got too familiar with her.

As he aged, and watched most of his brood grow old and die, he remained strong, and wise for his years, taking on a position of leadership among the tribe. Yet, one day, after coming home from a pilgrimmage to the heart of the desert to give the tribe's tribute to the great Leucetius, Lord of the Desert Skies, Keeper of the Sands, the Great Winged Blue One who's wrath is brought down from the heavens, he arrived to see his entire brood, and his dragon master horrifically murdered at the hands of a band of adventurers.

Not only had they murdered them all, they had taken all of his master's riches and the artifacts of the tribe. Left with nothing but his one gem he had secreted away, a gift from his master long ago, a deep blue sapphire, he wondered the desert, distraught with grief. There, left alone, he was lost, until he heard a voice in his mind, perhaps it was Leucetius, or perhaps he was simply hallucinating, but the voice told him to commune with the gem, that from within it he could unlock the powers he held inside himself. For nine days and nine nights, he sat listening to the winds, through the storms, through the bitter cold of the night, and the scorching heat of the day, until he finally felt it, the crackle of lightning, the rush of the winds. With that, the gem in his hands shattered to dust, joining the sands of the desert as Yik-Jot rose. He would avenge the death of his tribe and his master, Jalnur, daughter of Leucetius.
