Dragon Lords

This page lists the various Dragon Lords who compete with the paragons of Madius for the patronage of the mortal races. They compete with each other for territory and power, holding little else of value. As each Dragon Lord has a different lordship (typically and element, alignment or other concept, such as Fire, Good or Greed) they have little reason to directly attack one another, in fact, such an act is reprehensible and will incur the wrath of the other dragon lords, but rather, as a collective, the dragon lords play an intricate and endless game of chess. Any dragon can become a dragon lord, however, unless there is currently a vacancy in a particular lordship it is required for the fledgling dragon lord to challenge the existing one, ultimately ending in the death of one of the dragons, more often than not that of the challenger.

Each dragon lord generally has a servitor, a trusted companion that acts much as a second in command for their forces, though they have been known to be lovers, or even mindless constructs. In any case, these servitors are unswayingly loyal to their lords, and generally act as envoys and heralds for their masters' arrival or conquest.
